Maturity assessments are interventions where the current level of performance in a particular capability is assessed, typically against a best practice or compliance framework, and the gap between current and target state is determined. The maturity is often recorded using a simple 5-point scale ranging from “non-existent” to “mature and continually improving”; supporting justification, observations, and recommendations are recorded to enable a roadmap.
